Choosing Aprilaire Humidifier

Aprilaire humidifiers is one of the best choices for your home. This is good, convinient and affordable solution for any humidifying needs. But how to choose apropriate model, and, at least, install it correctly?

Choosing your Aprilaire humidifier
We will discuss the installation of an Aprilaire Bypass Evaporative Pad Humidifier on a natural gas furnace that operates on 120 volts. Heat pump Air handlers and electric furnaces operate at 240-240 volts and are probably best left to professionals. If you do not have a floor drain, you may need to consider the Aprilaire 400 which runs again this is clean water. Although more expensive at the outset, it requires no condensate pump to drain water! If you do not want or do not have room to add pipes, you may need the Aprilaire 700 which does not use duct. All this said, however, we believe that the Aprilaire 600 is the best unit in general, if we can use it.

Installation pre-requirements
The Aprilaire Type 600, air passages in your trunk or air supply plenum, which then flows through the humidifier and back into the trunk of cold air return or fall back. A vertical panel of the water will be water flowing there, when there is a call for humidity, warm air from your air will evaporate the water and put it in your home. A humidistat is installed in your return duct to sense when the humidity is really necessary. There will be a drain line attached to the bottom of the humidifier which will carry the excess water and minerals manufactured from the last cycle. This feature allows drainage of these guys a lot healthier and require little maintenance. Other types of humidifiers seranecessiter more cleaning.

What tools do you need?
A volt / ohm meter is useful and should be used if you have one, but we've included a simple way to ensure that the current is cut further. The nut driver, screwdriver flat head pocket, an adjustable wrench, pliers, 1/4" 1/4 cup tubes and cut sheet is a must. A hammer will come in handy for starting a hole in the sheet with the edge of a screwdriver.

Relay to 50
If you have an older furnace humidifier you probably need to install a relay that allows execution only if the humidifier furnace blower is running so you do not rust at the bottom of your furnace humidifier more. This is an Aprilaire A50 relay. So first lets see if you need the relay. Go to your oven and close the main supply or to the switch near the furnace or by closing the main breaker or removing the fuse from the main electrical panel. Remove the fan cover and see if you see PCB. If you have a printed circuit board look to see if there are terminals marked HUM (stands for humidifier). If you have this device we now need to know if this terminal is supplying 24 volts or 120 volts.
